Ode to the Ostrich
In the land of silly birds and beasts,
Lived an ostrich with clumsy feet,
It tripped and stumbled with every stride,
And face-planted with a goofy pride.
Its feathers fluffed, its neck so long,
It danced the chicken dance all wrong,
It honked and squawked with gleeful cheer,
And did the cha-cha-slide in fear.
One day, it wore roller skates to town,
And crashed into a cake renown,
The baker laughed and said with glee,
"You're a bird-brained catastrophe!"
The ostrich smiled, "I'm quite the star,"
And did a pirouette from near and far,
It flapped its wings, and off it flew,
Into a lamp post – "Ouch!" it "Squawk!" too.
Now when you see this ostrich stride,
Just laugh and shake your head with pride,
For though it's clumsy, it's quite grand,
This silly bird, in this silly land.
