It Was in the Way She Looked at You
Because animals know best

I watched you playing, from the bridge.
Your eyes fixed on her.
She ran to you, across the grass,
dropped the frisbee at your feet.
And something in the way she looked at you,
through those trusting, chocolate eyes,
told me, assuredly,
you were a man that I could love.

To me, a person who doesn't love animals or vice versa can never have a place in my heart. Loved your poem so much!
Yep. There has to be a maxim that says animal lovers make the best lovers.
Animals do know best. Beautiful Cathy.
So lovely. You can trust a man who's good with dogs. Probably. Great work.
