It Serves Me Right

I did you wrong

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

V-1

I always took it for granted that you would be mine

Now look who’s empty-handed and all alone tonight?

I never thought you’d leave as I strung your heart along

I never knew what I had until it was gone

It serves me right, I did you wrong

V-2

Now I can’t stop these tears I never knew I had

How can a broken heart bring me down so fast?

And the pieces are hard to pick up since you’re truly gone

I never knew what I had until it was gone

It serves me right, I did you wrong

Br:

Night after night, I was having the time of my life

While you were at home tryin’ to keep our love alive

Now I know just how you felt, and I can’t help but cry

For all the love I could have had, I didn’t even try.

V-3

Now it’s only in my dreams where I hold you tight

That’s where I kiss your lips and hear your soft sweet sighs

But when I wake up, I find I am always alone

I never knew what I had until it was gone

It serves me right, I did you wrong
