It’s nature’s call – pandemics

Environmental day special - June 5

By Devi VaidehiPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
My 6th grade daughter's (Poornima Prakash) thought for environmental day...I too joined her with my poetry

Nature is a factory

And we are all a layman.

We don’t own all, says history.

Still, dictate and possess were the game plan.

Nature is the landlord of splendors around.

We are just tenants of the leftovers.

Nourish the space, we are bound.

Rather, we wore the greedy mask to rule over.

“You are all not alone.”

Nature says it all.

But no mercy was being shown.

Rather, with cruelty, built great walls.

Nature remained just a spectator

As blissful ice melted to tears,

As the lush woods kept burning in front of the creator.

Less blessed became our future.

Nature showed its protest.

“Shame to torture me so long.”

Quivered and ravaged to calm our quest,

But the harassment went on.

And the day came to curb our oppressive thoughts

As Nature sets new rules.

We are caged to save the lives

And to know what we lost.
