It's been a fair bit since I have had the headspace and motivation to write so I have decided to go back to Found Poetry. Something I will try to do daily until the flow returns!
Found Poem after reading Vogue:
It’s Kinder Than Jumping From A Lily-Pad
Having laboured for several lifetimes
under the gaze of an audience
it’s unlikely she walked into a shop
Sustaining a unique style
could make
a woman
stand out
It’s kinder than jumping from a lily-pad
She will pick up some stuff
and leave me a list
of what needs doing
Developing a regular habit
is one of the best ways
to achieve a longtime goal
It’s kinder than jumping from a lily-pad

Untitled - Part One
Today I wrote a poem using book titles that I liked the sound and rhythm of, from the Renard Press Spring 2024 Catalogue and The Folio Society Summer Catalogue 2024. Both these publications are as beautiful as the books they sell so before I popped them in the recycling, I felt I had respectfully given then an alternative life as prompts for poetry.

It starts with love.. The Power to the God Of War and Wealth Walk into a Chinese restaurant (even in Oklahoma, USA), a Chinese police station, a kung fu martial arts studio or even a Chinese temple and you often see a red faced warrior holding a heavy quan-do (spear like weapon).
