Today I wrote a poem using book titles that I liked the sound and rhythm of, from the Renard Press Spring 2024 Catalogue and The Folio Society Summer Catalogue 2024. Both these publications are as beautiful as the books they sell so before I popped them in the recycling, I felt I had respectfully given then an alternative life as prompts for poetry.

I will list the titles I choose after the poem and include those I felt didn't fit and those who I removed during the six edits this piece went through before settling as a prose poem.

Untitled

In my book of revelations, I bark like a dog playing with reality as if it meant something. The yellow wallpaper is the colour of extinction, silent movement in the clouds, the prophet seeks the spoils.

In my neverending story the princess bride takes dark materials to the enchanted wood and interprets the maladies. Her songs of innocence and experiences tell Kafka, on the shore, tales of a silent spring where we have always lived in the castle.

    Excellent idea Aly this is similar to my "Plagiaristic Poetry" idea , this was one https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/a-plagiaristic-poem-stolen-from-a-magazine%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cstyle data-emotion-css="w4qknv-Replies">.css-w4qknv-Replies{display:grid;gap:1.5rem;}
