It’s A Wonderful Life

Bring Me The Childlike Heart That Remembers

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read
My Christmas

Back when I was a child, I was innocent and naïve. The one who believed in wishes and Santa, true love and reindeer.

I wonder what happened to that kid

When did she abandon ship and adopt sarcasm and bitterness over hope and joy?

I remember sleepless nights- full of excitement, anticipating what wonders awaited down the twinkle lit stairs.

Now restlessness comes from stress, demands, deadlines and disappointments - there are no magically wrapped boxes awaiting to take my breath away.

Life became hard. Almost mean, somedays.

I vote for bringing back hope. Seasons of joy. The kind that comes from someone’s smile.

Butterflies and unicorns

I want to feel the power of love, sweeping me off of my feet

What I would give to be back in that room where the people who loved me best, unconditionally, surrounded me again.

Jimmy, where is Clarence when you need him most, jumping into the chaos to save us?

It IS a wonderful life!

Ring those bells and hand out those wings to our better angels.

I felt this so hard. You have a way of always saying what I'm feeling or thinking. Beautifully written :)
