It’s a marvellous night
For a moon dance

Dear Moon
I see tonight your phase be full
And though you know I am no fool
Can be quite canny as a rule
Your icy glow doth make me anxious
Jittery
A little fractious
Hot and sweaty
Skin aglow
Excited feelings down below
A hunger that is all consuming
Need to feed on flesh is calling
A slender neck would be inviting
To sink my teeth in
Such a nice thing
Chew on sinew
Bone and fat
Swallow entrails
Just like that
My blood lust I can’t keep in check
Let rip and let go
What the heck
But NO
I must not lose control
Just because your orb is whole
I must hang on to empathy
With normal people just like me
Show my human sharing side
My love for mortal man abide
And tender loving feelings show
Gently handle folks I know
For I am such a caring guy
When lesser moon is in the sky.
So Luna hear my earnest plea
Don't let this madness bide with me

A wonderful and twisted poem.
Bloody amusing!
Love the flow of this one! Poor guy is really fighting that urge 🐺
"Excited feelings down below", are they what I think they are? Lol. Loved your poem!
You created such intense imagery with this letter to the moon. I feel the lust to give in to the beast as well as the heartfelt plea to overcome the pull and remain a gentle soul on this eve of the full moon. I could almost believe you have first hand experience as a Werewolf. Well done.
Loved the imagery this evoked so much. And of course, you can't read the awesome title without humming that wonderful Van Morrison tune.
So true that full moons do, indeed, invoke the beast within the best of us.
Such passion, I hope the moon appreciate your serenade.
