It happened on a cloudy, chilly night.

A man was walking solo through the park.

He wasn't known for having fits of fright,

But he heard footsteps follow in the dark.

*

A deep, foreboding, rhythmic sounding gait,

Which surely forcast trouble, in his mind.

He hastened on. The strides would imitate.

He turned and saw a figure drop behind.

*

But then, his friend called out, "You left your phone."

He sighed and said, "You gave me quite a scare."

"What's this?" his friend inquired, "The Twilight Zone?

'Cause if it is, then you had best beware!"

*

"You'll find I'm not the friend you've come to know,"

And then, he lunged. His eyes began to glow.
