A poem

Let’s embark on this journey,

We spend the day packing and fixing everything together.

Suddenly, we know we are on a journey together.

It’s not the storms I worry about.

I worry for the unknown as we are explorers.

The unknown while braving each storm.

We stop by an island of paradise and we explore that together.

It is beautiful yet terrifying.

Giant spiders and snakes, but wonderful sand and sunsets are all in this island.

Large caves with darkness, but great waterfalls greet us with blue waters.

Once again, we set out and we are explorers. An island of ugly.

It’s where greed and selfishness fester, the longer you’re there the harder it is,

we barely set foot knowing what would happen.

We choose the brave the storm that sends our beloved ship into chaos.

A sail has fallen, but we glue it back together.

We mend it back together on the tropical island.

We are so careful with it to not break it again.

We are explorers and love is a relationship. We may go exploring other islands.

We may break our sails while we braved a storm.

We may hit high water unknowingly.

We grab a flashlight and explore the dark caves on the island.

We run along the beach and watch the sunset.

We do everything together, but notice there’s just two of us.

Your family and friends stayed behind wishing you well.

No one can tell you what is right or wrong. There’s just two of us.

It is just us here and we need to figure out how to sail this ship.

Who will be the captain and who will be the bosun.

We are the only ones.

You are the only ones.

You’ve packed your bags and you said “let’s go” not knowing where you’ll go or what storms to face.

This is what we signed up for, we signed up to be in a relationship and we found love.
