Is Slow the New Fast?

Finding Success in Patience

If there's a shortcut to success, the fastest one is to take it slow. It's not that we lack excellence, but rather that we're too anxious—anxious to prove ourselves to others and the world. We'd do better to take things one step at a time. The more you desire to make a name for yourself, the more patient you should be.

Like drinking tea, gulping it down is one way, but it misses the mellow fragrance that comes from allowing the sediment to settle. My friend, I want to tell you: Don't be anxious; accumulate experience. Life isn't a race. It doesn't matter if we walk slowly, as long as we keep moving forward.

If you lose money, you can earn it back; if you lose a job, you can find another; if you lose friends, you can make new ones; if you lose love, you can find another. You were born with nothing, so why fear starting over?

When the water reaches a desperate point, it becomes a waterfall; when people reach a desperate point, they are reborn. The middle of the mountain is always crowded; you must strive to reach the top.

No matter what choices you make in life, there will be regrets. The truly strong person is the one who mends their own heart in the dead of night and awakens with renewed confidence. While alive, you should carve paths through mountains and build bridges over water. Forgive everything before sleep, and you'll be reborn upon waking.

You must know you have advantages, even if you learn a little slower than others. So what? That doesn't make you a bad person, nor does it mean you can't excel at other things. I won't allow you to dislike yourself so much.

If you can't alleviate your anxiety about the future, then focus on what's in front of you. It's impossible to see far in a foggy morning, but at least every step under your feet is clear. The fog will eventually dissipate. Until then, you can't stay still, not taking any steps. You must concentrate on walking the path ahead.

The fog will gradually clear, and everything will develop in the direction you anticipate.
