The Cage of Possession

He doesn't love you, but he won't let you go.

He's neither willing to cherish you nor able to let you go.

Behind a veneer of respectability, he does the most selfish things.

You think it's love, but it's really just possession.

He's grown accustomed to everything you give, but he's too lazy to return the favor with tender care.

He can't leave you—not out of love, but out of greed for the benefits you bring.

You repeatedly wait in doubt and compromise again and again in pain.

You think he'll eventually learn to cherish you, but he's never considered changing for you.

Leave.

Stop compromising yourself for someone who doesn't deserve you.

Free yourself from the cage of your emotions.

We all know he won't change, but you deserve a better future.

You deserve to be treated with sincerity.

This is so powerful and honest. It reads like the wake-up call so many people need to hear. I've definitely been there before.
