Is Earth Safe to Call Our Home?

A spaceship touched down,

beneath the bruised sky,

watching us ruin

the Earth we once cherished.

It came with a promise,

to guide us back

from the edge of our choices,

but we saw a threat,

pulled out our big guns,

fired fear into the night.

Now they think we’re hostile,

a danger to their light.

We may be left waiting,

wondering in silence,

hoping they don’t return,

fearing that we lost our chance.

In the stillness that follows,

will we learn from our mistakes?

Is Earth now safe to call our home,

or have we sealed our fate alone?

A premature shot in the darkness of ignorance and fear. Nicely said Marie.
