Irony
Submission for the Unnecessary Line challenge
It‘s kind of ironic
For you to reach out
Suddenly asking for my help.
Especially when the task
Is helping you putting together
What you said is your new bed.
*
I guess you had no options
And there was nobody else around
To extend their helping hand.
But still is funny as heck
How your initial line of thought
Was the same old you. Right on brand.
*
What should I do?
What’s the proper way to say
That I couldn’t care less?
When I get a call
For what it sounds like a damsel
Full of troubles and in distress?
*
I don't know what to put on the salsa.
It may be silly on me:
I marked it as "read" and deleted the note.
I think it's better that way
Stay apart as we did from the start
Although I am around, it's best if I stay remote.

Nice bite to this — wry, honest, and a little mischievous. Reads like you’re practicing the art of not reacting… choosing space over drama, and that’s a surprisingly strong kind of closure. 🙂
I love where you plugged in the unnecessary line….like the reader (ironically) slips into their own old ways despite the present complaint
Can't put their own bed together? Sounds like a damsel's excuse if ever I have heard one. Well written and well reasoned. 👏👏✨
