Aztec remains,

woman gains,

fresh insight and understanding,

as she sees the branding

in the earth and rocks,

almost as if the ruins still talk.

Habits of humans, so long ago,

they had much to tell and show.

Tunnels twirling secrets around,

mysterious, strange things in the ground.

Cold stale air knocks the breathing out,

and the thin trail leads her about.

She calls her mother to see how she is,

as she sips on soda fizz.

“Mother, there’s something a bit intriguing about these aztec remains,

I just feel some mystery bulging in my veins.

If I don’t come back,

then you’ll know something went whack.”

The Azteca priests and wealthy believed in monotheistic pantheism- one big, powerful God, and then many lesser gods and sacrifice and cannibalism were a part of the religion. The poor and uneducated Azteca believed in polytheism- many gods. The movie Apocalypse is a cinematic version. This is spooky...😵‍💫 hope she doesn't get invited invited "for dinner " lolol
