Into Voids

A poem

Remember,

You can not see,

The fortune that awaits,

No matter how laborious,

You slave to secure.

You are not to know,

Though you must learn,

Slow solemn lessons,

Of days you must live.

Ahead,

You most stumble,

Blind and dumb,

Measured and watched,

Judged by your missteps.

Plans are deceitful,

Dreams wearing masks,

Of alluring promise,

Disturbing trustful slumber.

So,

As you lie down tonight,

And rest for the new day,

Accept it is all for nothing,

Nothing where you must begin.

Hope is of little comfort,

And trust is seldom wise,

But all you have is trial,

And time to perfect.
