Insatiable Restlessness

a poem by Solomon

By Solomon WalkerPublished 2 years ago 1 min read
insatiable restlessness by Solomon

Beyond the radiant expanse of night,

Stars in their cosmic dance taking flight,

A tranquil scene of ethereal delight,

But sleep evades my longing plight.

My thoughts, like restless galaxies,

Spinning, swirling in their vast seas,

In the quiet hours, my torment grows,

As I lie awake, with insomnia in tow.

Time’s passage, unheeded, fleeting,

As the night wears on, unrelenting,

In the stillness, my mind takes wing,

In this boundless universe, I yearn to sing.

In the tranquillity of midnight’s reign,

A solitary soul, no more inane,

The silence brings a quiet reprieve,

As I find solace in the night, I conceive.

An endless dance of thoughts unfolds,

With no limitations, no barriers to uphold,

In this place, my spirit soars,

And my dreams find room to roam and explore.

As dawn breaks with morning’s glow,

A wondrous sunrise to light the flow,

I bid farewell to my nocturnal plight,

Embracing the dawn and its celestial sight.

This fleeting moment, my insomnia’s boon,

In the vast expanse of the night I have swooned,

Finding beauty in its silent grace,

And cherishing this solitary, peaceful space.
