Insanity
A Poem by Keila Aartila
I’m letting go my sanity.
Grounded for too long
in this mundane normalcy,
bonded to your throng.
***
I want to play out in the rain,
twirling, dancing with the breeze;
shaking off the hidden pain
a rhythm no one sees.
***
No longer rattled by your chains,
I skip blithely toward the light.
No longer held back by tight reins,
I wish to see the sights.
***
I sing a song of brilliant blue
dedicated to your honor;
I will invent the life I choose
regardless of your pleasure.
Thank you for reading!
This poem is dedicated to those who choose to live beyond the labels. It’s hard to buck the system, but you are not insane.

Love the pattern you adhere to, re introducing the rule of rythm and beat of Poetry itself.
I love this 🖤 such a powerful message, and so true.
Lovely and inspirational!
Beautifully written! It had such a great rhythm.
Omg, thank you so much for this poem! People need to understand that different doesn't mean bad or insane. Absolutely loved this!

Beautiful piece. Love it.
I loved it
Gorgeous! Reminds me of the supposed quote from Nietzsche "those who danced were thought crazy by those who couldn't hear the music."
So beautiful and powerful. Love this ❤️
