Innocent Regrets of Animal Cruelty

A poem

Contented child, in chair with mother

spooning sweet mush pears from rainbow lands

where smiling faces last forever.

Contented child hears Christmas crackers

snap! like bones of this strange creature

smouldering, between the laughter.

Contented child beside sweet father

pointing skyward, gun to shoulder

waiting for the bang! and flutter.

Contented child in awe of brothers

pulling limbs from stationary spiders,

smiling at each other.

Contented child, youth gone forever,

wishing ...

that he had been stronger.

I'm so sorry for being so slow but I don't understand it although I've read it four times 😅😅
