Learning to Understand Mindfulness

By Katherine ShannonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Where do I go from here?

I had every step planned out to the letter.

Now I sit here, lost.

My mind, once a nicely kept room.

Now, a cluttered mess of misfortune and broken plans.

Like a lost child in a sea of people, I scream for help.

Reaching for safety, security, hope.

Where do I go from here?

I’m at a crossroads with the heart of a gypsy,

But the mind of a neurotic perfectionist.

Muddling through this world of unkept secrets,

I yearn to be understood for my quiet discomfort.

The views of another are like views of war inside my head.

Never ending and never beginning, but always important to each other.

Where do I start? Where do I begin?

Do I have a right to an opinion?

Do you?

Like a dead flower I’m screaming out to you!

In pain, I wish to be acknowledged for my creativity and beauty.
