Calligraphy of the Heart

An assortment of lines

scrawled on sheets of white,

a jumble of meaning quietly shines.

-

To some merely scribbles

swirling eddies,

no deeper meaning untold quibbles.

-

Yet to others they hold

meaning so rich,

more than fountains of gold.

-

Sweeping Strokes

furiously jotted,

mind to hand they must coax.

-

Holding unquestionable truth

slathering's of salacious lies,

rendering gentle folk rabidly uncouth.

-

Countless adages

the pen is mightier than the sword,

paint vivid collages.

-

Oil confidently claims the title

liquid gold,

yet in the course of history, not so vital.

-

It doesn't take much to think

Humanity's greatest discovery,

Ink.
