When once a Council Father held,
Each heart with joy was filling.
We all were asked and all beheld
That only One was willing.
When Earth He made His Father bade
Us go and choose the right.
He blessed us with free agency,
And gave His Son as Light.
Christ came to earth through mortal birth;
Born to the virgin Mary.
He lived as man, that Father’s plan
Go forth, and nothing vary.
When in the garden Jesus knelt
For you and I and all,
He took our sins upon Himself;
Redeemed us from the fall.
Then hanging on the cross, He asked
Forgiveness for those killing
The very Son of God Himself,
For He Himself was willing.
Let us, when called to follow Him,
Our souls, with peace, instilling;
With courage, show that we, like Him,
Will be forever willing.
About the Creator
Luke Haymons
“Everyday courage has few witnesses. But yours is no less noble because no drum beats for you and no crowds shout your name.”
― Robert Louis Stevenson
