In the Silence of My Soul

A rhyming cry from the heart—where pain speaks louder than love, and silence holds the truth.

By Emma Published 6 months ago 1 min read

In the silence of my soul, I hide my pain

Washing memories in the midnight rain

Every heartbeat whispers your sweet name

But love, it seems, is not a fair game

I gave you all with no regret or fear

You took it all, then disappeared from here

Left me drowning in shadows and doubt

With nothing but silence to scream and shout

The nights are long, the stars look dim

Hope fades like light on the water’s rim

The moon still glows with stories we shared

But now it stares, like it never cared

I trace the scars that time can't heal

Wounds so deep, I forget to feel

Yet still I wait for your voice to call

Though I know you won’t return at all

Love is a fire that burned my skin

A battle I lost I couldn't even win

But through the ashes, I still arise,

Wearing heartbreak as my disguise
