Without the perforce

of such a meeting,

the two would have never met.

Without the two having

met each other,

the world would

still be in balance.

Without the world being

in balance,

the shifting tides

would hardly be noticed.

-

Striding forward,

black cloak flapping in the wind

and a pure blue sky hanging above him,

there is a confidence in his gait.

Opposite the black sun,

garbed all in white,

the white moon hesitates.

-

The world is out of balance.

Power has failed.

The sun has won.

-

Then, as an iceberg melts

in the intense heat,

hesitation fades.

The white moon charges forward,

stirring the dust that had settled in at his feet.

Heels click loudly on the whitewashed rooftop.

The sky darkens as the two collide.

-

Blackness above

darkness around,

the outcome is uncertain

for only a few moments.

-

In that hesitation,

the white moon has failed.
