In One Universe

In one universe, there is just you and I.

We only loved, there was never pain nor affliction;

I never let go and neither did you.

In one universe I realize, I cannot rely on you for my happiness.

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder but,

You doused my heart in gasoline;

and I let go.

In one universe, I am moved on I’m alive and I am whole again.

I never needed you;

Days pass by, I am better without knowing of your existence.

It isn’t important anymore.

In another universe, we fall in love again.

Only this time; you are someone else.

A nervous giggle, a morning sigh;

We find a home by the sea together at bay, the stars as our night sheets.

In this universe, we made it.
