Her womb carried me for a season
Her eyes looked down at the future
In my Mother’s eyes, I was today’s imminent
Tomorrow was saved for her tears of joy
Her smile blinked at my countenance
Her hopes expelled my fears
In my Mother’s eyes, a rose to water
Today, she nurtured my ensuing dreams
Her love captured my person
Her words raptured the uncertainties
In my Mother’s eyes, I climb the insurmountable
Yesterday, she reared me for these moments
Her faith carved the journey
Her trust imprinted my life’s passage
In my Mother’s eyes, her sacrifice, my purpose
Tomorrow’s testings survive on her words
Her calm ignited my kindled confidence
Her caress brushed away impressionable doubt
In my Mother’s eyes, her struggles, my ease
Today, she engulfed tumultuous trials
Her prayers she prayed on knees weary
Her supplications my invitation to trust
In my Mother’s eyes, I was destined for victory
Yesterday, she interceded for future triumph
Her adoration my passion for purpose
Her affection resolute in tenacity
In my Mother’s eyes, she sealed my worth
Today I am, I will be, I go through my Mama’s eyes.
