The snow falls softly to the ground
As the bitter wind doth howl
A barren tree stands alone
In a world so cold and foul
The ice on the lake doth crack
As the sun begins to rise
But the chill in the air lingers on
As winter's grip doth prize
The frost on the windows cling
As the fire in the hearth dies down
But the warmth in our hearts we bring
As we huddle in our gowns
Though the cold may nip at our nose
And the darkness may be long
We'll weather the storm that blows
For in spring, the thaw is strong.
