The fire

The old cast iron stove

Sits in the corner of the room

Its black surface shines

In the light of the full moon

The fire within crackles

As the wood burns to ash

A warm and comforting glow

Fills the room in a flash

The heat radiates out

Chasing away the cold

A cozy haven on a winter night

As the winds outside grow old

It's a simple thing, this stove

But it brings such delight

It's a reminder of days gone by

And a beacon through the night.
