Imperfectly Together

growing with our sacred mirrors

It doesn’t matter

that I don’t like

some of the things I see

in you.

It doesn’t matter

that sometimes an unhealed part of me

makes your ego flare up

and then mine flares up

even more.

If we were already perfect,

we wouldn’t get to go on

the heartbreaking,

painful,

exhausting,

fulfilling,

exhilarating,

confusing,

beautiful journey

of discovering our true selves

together.

Of shedding different layers

we’ve outgrown.

Of finding new gems

hidden within us

in places we never before

thought to look.

If we were perfect,

there would be no journey.

Nothing to discover.

But there is.

A breath-taking adventure

waiting for us to experience.

Hundreds of lessons

waiting to be taught.

I have a feeling

we have no idea what we’re getting

into.

But I have a feeling

it will be worth

the ride.
