Trees grow in odd shapes,
The ground isn't always straight,
Fences can be rough and worn,
Your shoes won't always last in a storm,
People can be small or tall,
Faces can have warts and all,
Figures can be curvy or slim,
Noses can be buttoned or pointy;
It doesn't matter who we are,
There are no permanent straight roads,
Or lines we walk,
And no figure or face is without flaws,
But love can see past them all,
Everything has imperfections,
Whether human, animal, or plant life,
But, those imperfections don't make us ugly,
or wrong,
It's time to embrace them;
Embrace who we are, as we are.

Love this, Carol Ann! Such an important message and one that is actually really quite easy for people take and apply in their lives. So much hatred and unease in the world would be eradicated almost immediately if people took on the lessons in this poem. I love how tight the flow is and how you say so much, without padding out with unnecessary words at all. Well done!
