You wrapped your nimble hands around

My heart from the very first moment

You gave me your sarcastic reply,

Telling me off when others told me what

I wanted to hear

When yours stopped beating

Blue eyes like a dull lake, dripping like a slow leak

I felt deep down

The dead guts I had all along

were brand new, chosen by a silver thread of

Eternity

Though I was human and you weren’t,

My guts felt less alive

How could you be braver than I?

My darling Asher, how could you be

Full of more

Dreamy, daring, hopeful

Truths?

Dead guts, still alive

I found you as my love and we burst into a deep

New chapter of lore

Frozen in time, you sliced open the old wounds

Feasting on our old stories,

Ready to help me create a new one.

My beautiful Jewish desert 🌸 flower

How can I be your mensch when I could not save you?

How can I feel you when you make me

Jolt in my veins like a burst of lightning

Just from a simple look?

You truly deserve one with lively guts,

My dear love,

Your voracious blue heart

Engulfed me… no ghost heart at all…

Your blood may be drained but you

Certainly don’t act like it.

I swam forever in its depths, we loved each other in a long black exhale we couldn’t feel

Entangled in our

Immortal

Blues.

I almost feel as you've drawn from your relationship with the Raven for this between Asher & Hudson. Whether that's the case or not, this is powerfully evocative.

  • Though I was human and you weren’t, My guts felt less alive I loved these lines so much because of the irony! So happy to read about Asher and Hudson!

What a great concept. A poem about charactors in your book. Loved it.
