Poem
~~~Illusions
You are but a myth...
A fantasy I clung to while I pleasured myself in the illusions created.
You wove your magic, in a maelstrom, plotting seduction, as my resistance faded.
Dark and foreboding
You manipulated me from the eaves of my psyche.
Your words clung to me shameless toxic and exciting
My sensibility pillaged. You discovered my secrets and rendered me useless.
My equilibrium off-kilter, against a sensual onslaught -intentional and ruthless.
Once you knew I was yours for the taking, you made me putty in your palms.
You dove the delta wave of my dreams, with each breath shallow, weak, and writhing— I couldn't fathom.
When the illusions transcended into everyday existence.
You changed your trajectory and slowed your persistence.
Tainted by misgivings - a sense filled with curiosity yet shrouded in incredulity.
Misled the symmetry, suddenly I was resigned forsaken and reeling.
I thought I could sustain you- unprepared for the malady it cost.
You were content in your void, while you shunned me an absolute loss.
You declined the recourse to submerge into my otherworldly splendor.
Instead, retreating to the core of obscurity you've safely hidden under.
So here I stand in the dust, shaken and confused.
Missing something undefinable and never quite pursued.
The memories of you linger as a fracture to my vitality.
Squandered are the illusions, now tethered to cold hard reality.
