The blinding gold of the light and warmth

By Sydney FuriePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The blinding gold of the light and warmth

The clouded hue that sticks to your fingers

As balls of wax are rolled into dough

Molding the shape

Of that which gives you freedom

Life

A pair of wings to roam the earth

Extend the limits of those you love

See what you never imagined

But that which giveth can also taketh away

Fly too high and it will melt you

Limitless power was never meant for the commoners

But why?

Why not set our sights on yellow?

And see how far we can glide

Icarus fell and drowned

But when you’re made of water

You have nothing to fear

Red and orange

Engulf me and protect me

In my journey through the sky
