If You Want Me To Stay Friends

Show Me That You Care

You said I was your best friend,

You said you'd stay to the end,

Told me that you'd walk with me forever,

When my life turned upside down,

You went away for what felt like an

eternity,

And I didn't see you again,

You left me sinking when I needed

your strength,

Stole the last piece of my heart,

At a time when my life was already

In bits,

You told me that you always cared,

You knew that I was scared;

You have no idea how much I

lost myself when you went away.

And now you are back;

You can spend time talking to me,

Like you did all those years ago,

A time when you kissed me,

Remember?

But it isn't enough;

I've grown since then,

I've learned the value of

myself;

And, I've learned to respect

what I value in my friends,

If you want my friendship,

Tell me who you are;

Stop running scared,

Did you even miss me?

It wouldn't kill you to say so,

If you want my friendship,

And you want it to be strong,

And close;

Like it was before,

Show me that you care,

And open up the door.
