If Tomorrow Starts Without Me

Unofficial Challenge - Kayleigh Fraser

If tomorrow starts without me,

I want the moon to shine brightly, travel through

its phases from New Dark Moon through Quarter Moon, shining half,

then full, its smile facing us,

until the sun fades out Luna’s smile

to a brightly lit New Dawn

I want the birds to trill loudly, drowning out everything

A chorus of songs so vibrant, it brightens

your face to a smile that rivals the moon's

and the brilliance of our sun

If tomorrow starts without me,

I want the tree frogs to croak and the crickets to chirp their tunes

The rain will softly caress leaves, nourishing

bark and leaves,

it will patter quietly, gently, on windowpanes and

lightly touch your face in a stroll,

mingling with joyous tears deep in the soul

(c) Andrea O. Corwin

If tomorrow starts without me,

roses will open to reveal frogs awakening

from their soft-petaled bed of moisture

owls will wing to their high roosts waiting for the night

the nighttime hoots silent now til dark

ravens will race each other in mountain winds and

the bald eagle will soar on updraft air currents

as her sister osprey dives deep for a fish

If tomorrow starts without me,

I will be there in spirit by your side,

this you will know

Tiny miracles every second of your day

wrapped in memories

A gift for you,

if tomorrow starts without me.

Hi Ac - Been down for a few months - forgot to get my vaccination for 'Old Age' but I've always enjoyed your 'ecletic' stories. A Favor: I know that you are a follower of our Rachel; I see your thoughtful comments all the time. Please leave a comment on her 'Ode to Rachel Deeming' Post. The year-long writings are so impressive. I know she would appreciate the gesture from you. Thank you, - Jay -

Beautiful words you have shared. On a kind of morbid side this would make quite a poem to read at a funeral it is that beautiful for a person who loved the world and all that was around them.
