If Time Stops
If time stopped for the living,
what would it mean,
To those in heaven, beyond the unseen?
Would their endless peace stretch
To further, untouched,
Or would they wait,
frozen in places unhurried, unbrushed?
Would they see us stumble,
unaware, as we stand,
Paused in our grief, with
life slipping like sand?
Do they know our sorrow in moments untold,
Or does time itself fade into a fold?
Would they hold us in silence,
a whisper so near,
Or would they watch as the world sheds its fear?
Is heaven, minutes that slip like a breath,
Does time cease its ticking,
or remain with its death?
If time stopped for the living,
would they feel our call,
Or remain untouched, serene in the fall?
Perhaps, in that stillness,
they’d finally see,
Times greatest gift is the moment to be.
If time stopped for the living,
would memories fade,
Or would the past linger, its echoes unmade?
Would the souls above see the stillness below,
A world suspended in time,
with nowhere to go?
Would they sense our longing,
our quiet despair,
Or find solace in knowing,
no sorrow is there?
For time is a river that moves, always fast,
And without its current, would peace ever last?
Would they wait in the silence,
frozen in grace,
As the world below, unmoving, loses its place?
Or would they rise above,
free from the chain,
Watching us suffer, caught in the strain?
If time stopped for the living,
would heaven remain,
A realm untouched,
free from our pain?
Or would the divine look back to see,
How time’s halting might change eternity?

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
