If I wake up tired, with bags under my eyes,

Please don't worry, I forgot it was night.

My pen and paper have pestered me all day,

And all I want to do is write away.

You see, they mock me when I'm not working,

Even if my brain is yawning!

When I go to bed,

They call me in my head,

And then I wake up before the day is dawning.

So please; if I wake up tired, with bags under my eyes,

Show a little empathy, because I forgot it was night,

And the next night, when my pen twitches;

Please remind me to go to sleep before daylight!
