If I Could

A promise made in silence.

By Brooklyn BellaPublished 6 months ago Updated 3 months ago 1 min read

If I could hold all your sorrow.

If peace was a thing that I could borrow.

If faith was a thing that could be seen.

If happiness was as guaranteed as grass is green.

If I could unbreak a broken promise.

Reverse all the lies you’ve been told

and make them honest.

If I could steal back time.

Give you the love you deserved

and had made your heart mine.

If I could carry the sharp pain in your chest.

If I could peer into the future

and give you a glimpse of what’s next.

If I could hold you

every time you shed a tear.

If I could lift any weight

that you could not bear.

Undo the things in life you regret.

If I could endure what you were not ready for yet.

I’d forgive everyone that has betrayed you for you.

If I could collect all that is due.

With all the pain you’ve gone through…

I’d do anything.

To give you everything.

If I could.
