If I Could Choose The Dream
I would choose you
When I wake I think of nothing, my mind is blank but my heart is clear
Then comes pulsing a sensation I love, a care for someone I hold dear
I cannot understand the tremors of my heart but I do my best to control it
Even when I’m lost I feel the quakes in my soul and I search for meaning to decode it
My dreams are never certain and neither are my plans
Yet you stay by my side and continue to hold my hands
If I could dream of you every night and choose how it goes
I wouldn’t waste a moment on anything else, I’d build us a world where only heaven knows
I would relive our best moments frozen in time
I’d rewrite our pain and offer it up to a grace divine
Letters I would write to you in my dreams
Filled with roses and daisies and everything in between

We should all have such thoughts when we wake, and keep them throughout the day Congratulations
What a lovely poem. Congratulations on your top story! 🥰
Rewrite the past sorrows, and let everything return to tenderness.
Insiteful, wistful, without a hint of self pity.
