I Would Rather

I would rather be shut down

than never to have tried

I would rather stand up proud

than never to have cried

I would rather have regrets

Than to have stayed hidden in shadows

I would rather to forget

Than to never feel the wind blow

I would rather be alone

Than to cower to another

I would rather stay at home

Than to be alone, together

I would rather face the storm

Than to wonder what it feels like

I would rather remain firm

Than to be someone I dislike

I would rather taste the pain

Than to live my life in wonder

I would rather entertain

Than to live a life held under

Telling stories my heart needs to tell <3 life is a journey, not a competition
