I wonder

Wonder wild

By Jaclyn Gilbert Published 5 years ago 1 min read

I wonder what it would be like

To always have your eyes towards the sky

What it would be like to believe in your own lies

Where you stand is not worth losing your chance to expand

When you silence yourself you lie to yourself

How it must feel to constantly smother what to your soul is real?

Swiftly move your eyes from the clouds and choose to look down and around and perhaps you will be where you’re meant to be found

The pines, the oaks, the mist that cloaks

The ferns, the sweetgrass, where sunlight always lasts

Breathe it in, and let out the thoughts

The ones you kept buried and your wishing well in a drought

Listen to the sounds of your destiny flying earthbound

The river, the bees, the things that make you weak at the knees

The blue birds, the black, which when heard you no longer feel lack

Allow yourself to receive and no longer deceive

The passion that there has always been

Will come through so happiness can begin

No more hiding, no more lying

It’s time to let your soul feel like it isn’t dying

Don’t be weary of others who choose to feel dreary

Stay in your lane and don’t let others put in you in a corner to complain

Move forward in this life because the end is now of feeling this strife

Smile child, because what is yet to come is beautifully wild
