I wish you would just admit that you care.
It is not your unintended indifference that is the problem. Ignorance has only so many watch guards. One was named Cerberus and he had three heads, I believe. He had nine sisters and brothers yet ran along the banks of the Styx, sad-eyed and alone. Let me in.
I just need you, so, dismiss the guards quickly. Unpaid. Dis-counted.
Please don't stay tuned out with those surgically attached earphones. Yikes. Ha! Headphones, pardon. I don't perform surgeries on a Sunday, my dear.
May you meet your jealous counterpart in a duel of souls. You will win, my son. I promise. You will be the sweet victor.
I would give up anything for a kind word, one peaceful touch of acceptance from your beautiful speckled blue, green and gray eyes. Walk with me.
Everything is not for sale. My precious heart basks in your shared minutes. A movie recommended, an anteater fact, a "Caesar" Planet of the Apes reference. Put your palm in mine and tap it twice, thrice, my only son.
End your day before the day begins. Unless you are carefully watching the glorious sun rise up to serve us, please rest. Let it be done before it takes you.
Jazz-square and Moonwalk your way to a happy plane of dancing with green legs. Live innocently. Life offers you chances but they have already been decided for you. Enjoy the ride. Be the one to fill my dance card.
About the Creator
Raissa Dassel
I have been a poet since my childhood. It peaked during my misunderstood teens and now again in my 50th year of life. It would be an honor to have people respond to my thoughts. I played the piano as a child, too. It is a beautiful life.
