I Wish I’d Known
Time Passed Is Time Lost

I wish I’d known to slow things down
Before you blink the kids are grown
I wish I’d known don’t live so fast
The body fails as time has shown
I wish I’d known in times of gloom
The Sun keeps rising every day
I wish I’d known to stop and think
Who can I help along the way
I wish I’d known in times of need
Some friends of mine were just a lie
I wish I’d known when down and out
It’s where some friendships go to die
I wish I’d known that love takes time
To wait on it to leave its mark
I wish I’d known of patience then
To let a flame begin to spark
I wish I’d known, “This too shall pass”
When things are bad just simply wait
I wish I’d known if I’d allow
That “time” is seldom ever late
