I wish

a poem

By cheyenne Published 3 years ago β€’ 1 min read

Sometimes I wish I would have stood up for myself sooner.

Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have let the hurt break me.

Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have stayed silent.

Sometimes I wish I wouldn't have let your words take up so much space in my head that I forgot what my own voice sounds like.

So understand when I say

I don't hate you i just started loving myself.

I didn't destroy you I just finally saw myself as something worth fighting for.

Finding your worth can look a lot like destruction to the wrong person when their control over you is gone find it anyway.
