I Will See You Again

Goodbyes Aren’t Forever

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

What magic words are there left to say

I can’t seem to tell you goodbye

My heart beats like thunder and the sky looks like rain

But I can’t find the teardrops to cry

How do the sun and the stars find the sky

With the darkness eclipsing the light

How do I continue the rest of my life

With out you here, close by my side

How do I tell you what you meant to my heart

How can I live, with this void

Letting you go, tears my world apart

You were the one that I counted on, Boyd

A father and friend who defended and loved

The giver of all my spare parts

You were the first to teach me, the lesson of love

And forever will be in my heart

***

I love you, dad
