I Will Not Go Willingly
a poem/song about resilience in the face of fascism
By CT IdlehousePublished 3 months ago • 1 min read

I will not go willingly into the dark,
Where the light hasn't shone in years.
I will not comply with those who mean me harm--
The ones who control with threats and fear.
/
I will not go willingly into a cage,
To die in the heat like a dog.
I will not bow down to tyrants of hate,
Even if it's my neck on the block.
/
I will not go willingly with men in flaks,
Who see this cull as a means to an end.
I will not open the door to cowards in masks,
Who think women need to breed to save white men.
/
I will not go willingly to my own death,
Whether it's from a bullet or a noose.
I will scream for liberty until my last breath,
And the words will forever mark you.
