I went to the Zoo with the Girl I was in Love with

We went on a random Monday, in June

the summer sun heated the concrete stone

Our Friends were too lively, all before noon

and of course – I could not get you alone.

the blue water reflected off your face

through the glass, as You looked at the hippo.

and Your smile was soft, and made My heart race,

and when You glanced at me, I had to know.

soon the sun would set, and the Zoo would close.

I was clearly out of my element,

but by pure luck, the chance finally rose

there you were looking at the elephants.

I did not want to ruin the moment

And Ours hands touched, so I stayed in the moment
