Goodbye mother,
Goodbye father,
Goodbye sisters and brothers.
I'm off to see the world;
I shall return unto you soon.
As I left and closed the door,
I watched their hands move;
Bidding me adieu.
The door clicked behind me,
And I breathed in
The fresh air of opportunity.
It brushed my face,
A gentle breeze,
And it ruffled through
The autumn leaves.
I watched them move
As I began my journey.
I walked down to the street
And hopped into the taxi
That had been awaiting me.
I set my things inside
And settled in my seat.
And off I went;
I was free.
I gazed out the window,
Full of life.
I watched the trees move by
Amidst the happy sunlight,
And I dreamt of days to come.
But all too suddenly,
For just a second,
Everything stopped moving,
And I came back to reality.
I watched every second happen
Ever so slowly.
I saw the truck
Veering towards me;
I watched it move.
I saw the window breaking;
Glass shards spraying.
I watched them move,
I felt them piercing.
For a second, I saw the sky,
Ever peaceful, beautiful blue.
I watched it move
As I rolled on by.
A second later
I saw the ground.
It was rising up to meet me;
I watched it move
As I closed my eyes.
In one short breath,
My life flashed by.
I watched it move,
And one last time,
I opened my eyes
So I could watch
The world pass by.
And I watched it move
As I slowly died.
