After a lifetime of being anything but who I am

I was the girl
Who lived to die
While the world destroyed
What was on the inside
I was the girl
That no one saw
Who was seen as less
Than nothing at all
I was the girl
Who always dreamed big
About changing the world
By starting with my demons
I was the girl
Who knew not to cry
Till the damns cannot hold
All that has been locked inside
I am the girl
Finally able to breathe
Beginning to fight misconceptions
Of the girl I used to be
