I was played

Angles and edges of the human heart

By Rowan Finley Published 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

My voice was calming and sweet

Through the years, a form of love was a faithful treat

I got played and broken badly

My life took some shocking turns, sadly

The soundtrack to my soul never once stopped though

Honestly, I would have happily walked down death row

Clearly, insanity is my close companion, as I keep on loving

Givers give because that's all they know how to do

You’d think we’d learn, or have some kind of a breakthrough

There's nothing I want more in life than true love

The reason they call it "true love" is because there's no lies attached to it

sad poetry

Oof, this one hits hard. But hey, givers keep giving because that’s who they are! Also, your soul having a soundtrack? Now that’s a cool way to put it. What song do you think would be playing right now? 🙃
